About Corporate concepts

At Corporate Concepts, our mission is to develop long-term, rewarding relationships with clients, designers, and partners. We enjoy developing spaces for businesses in a broad spectrum of industries, always providing quality environments that meet business needs today and in the future.

We service clients around the United States and the world from offices in Chicago and Lombard, Illinois.

From space planning and specifications through delivery and installation, our service focus makes the Corporate Concepts team shine.

Our History

Founded in 1983 by Victoria Hansel, Jennifer Cusack and Larry Zerante, Corporate Concepts has grown to become the 14th-largest women-owned firm in Chicago, certified by the Women's Business Development Council.

Launched by former Steelcase employees and initially a Haworth dealer, Corporate Concepts joined the Knoll family in 1986. By that time, the company had already proven itself by significantly outperforming projections from the start.

In 1990, a merge with Creative Office Interiors created the opportunity to open an office near the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago, although the headquarters remains nearby in Lombard, Illinois.

Over the years, the firm has weathered virtually every market and economy, always by putting an emphasis on strong client relationships, earning the loyalty of outstanding employees and partners, and delivering an exceptional level of service. We were one of the first sponsors of DIFFA, and have always strived to be an active force for good in our industry. Now, more than 30 years later, our founders remain at the helm, keeping us strongly focused on service, relationships, and excellence.

Our Process

While every engagement is different, our process generally follows a similar path from kickoff through completion.

We begin by meeting to review plans and ask questions, so that we fully understand the design and requirements. Next, our CAD designer steps in. As systems and furniture are integrated into the approved plan, we generate detailed specifications, which are also reviewed by our installation manager to ensure accuracy and identify potential field issues.

Automated order entry, based on approved specifications, eliminates the risk of manual errors. We carefully track order status and accuracy until every item is received, and weekly meetings and status reports keep clients and partners up to date.

At the job site, staging cards and installation drawings assure proper product distribution and installation. Our team is always on hand for deliveries and throughout installation by factory-certified crews.

As the project nears completion, our team oversees punch list creation and completion. Finally, after clients move into their incredible new spaces, we're available for training, documentation―virtually anything necessary to make the transition a success.
