Science & Engineering Research Center

After completing a successful installation the prior year at this leading science and engineering research center’s Illinois director’s office they decided to again utilize DIRTT for a renovation of their Washington DC space. This allowed for a consistent aesthetic across the two offices and also provide a highly flexible space that met several unique needs. DIRTT was able to fit within their aggressive construction schedule given its short 4-week lead-time and project schedule enhancement gained by using plug and play modular electrical. Additionally, the DIRTT walls interfaced directly with the buildings existing waffle grid ceiling and exposed piping which allowed the organization to avoid the costly step of having to build drywall bulkheads. LED monitors and writable back-painted glass tiles are seamlessly embedded throughout the space to support branding and collaboration.

This client’s space is another powerful example of mass customization with DIRTT and combining the major benefits of both mass production and custom construction.
